Oracle employees expect layoff emails on September 1, the day its fiscal second quarter begins, with managers asked to submit lists of affected employees and some teams facing double-digit cuts. Staff fear a repeat of March 31, when a 6 am email from “Oracle Leadership” told 10,000 workers their role was eliminated. Oracle has already cut 21,000 jobs this fiscal year while spending $55.7 billion on AI data centres.
