Bengaluru IPS officer K Ramachandra Rao has been placed on compulsory leave following his daughter Ranya Rao’s arrest for attempting to smuggle 14.2 kg of gold from Dubai. Senior police officials allegedly provided protocol services for Ranya’s trips. To avoid further embarrassment amidst CBI and ED investigations, state authorities have taken this action.
